My name is Jasmine and I am the founder of Love Me Bag UK, we are a small family run UK based business.
My honest story of how Love Me Bag came into fruition is this; In 2018 I was finally diagnosed with an Autoimmune Disease “invisible illness” called Ulcerative Colitis after being ill for years & in 2022 Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, MCAS & Orthostatic Intolerance Syndrome/dysautonomia– I loved working but due to ‘flare ups’ of my disease I found it difficult to maintain a regular job.
I wanted to have a career that I could do despite my health concerns, but also wanted to do something that would hopefully make a difference in the world (through Our Awareness Bags, Mind UK donations and eco-friendly products and packaging ) and would incorporate my passion for spreading love, positivity and invisible/mental illness awareness. Love Me Bag UK has the potential for conveying all of these aspects.
Our mission statement. Love Me Bag UK wanted to contribute somehow to making a positive impact on the earth we live on and on the people who live on it. We as a society are wanting to phase out plastic and replace it with sustainable, compostable or eco-friendly items. Our bags themselves are a wonderful replacement for the plastic bags you get when you go shopping, they can also be folded away and be kept in you handbag. They are ethically sourced and use eco-friendly azo-free/lead-free dyes to colour the cotton. The materials the designs are created using (barring the glitter) are SGS certified eco-friendly and chemical free. The thank you cards are made from recycled card and the bags that your items are shipped to you in are made out of compostable material.
Our Awareness bags were designed with the intention of showing solidarity to all that are suffering. To help in some small way to break the stigma and shame that often accompany mental/invisible illness. They were made so people who suffer can let others know they are struggling and promote awareness but also so people can buy, wear and show their support and understanding. As an additional way to give back we have teamed up with Work for Good who have helped us set up donations to Mind, the mental health charity and we will be giving 10% from the sale each of Our Awareness Bags to them.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our company.
